Forum Title: Lubricating hinges/cranks on old aluminum windows
I need to lubricate hinges on 1954 aluminum windows. The window openings are about the lower third of the window--very hard to open fully, so no real ventilation. I think if the hinges were lubricated, they could open more easily. Plese don't tell me to replace them. I have money for lubricant, not replacement.

If it is not a brick house widen the opening to 36. It may require a bit of Sheetrock repair because you will need to replace the header but you won't have the cost of a custom door or settle for what you can find that fits. . Also it will make moving large items into your house easier.

I use Aluma-lube on aluminum windows. It's kind of like a penetrating silicone spray for aluminum.
